Last Rain 2 Million Years Ago

in #nature7 years ago

The McMurdo Dry Valves in Antarctica, one of the farthest points in the world where everything is blinded by snow and ice, is a striking anomaly. The McMurdo dry valleys, which have plunged 2 million years ago even in the last rainfall, are of interest to researchers as the nearest place we can get in terms of similarity to Mars right now on Earth.

98% of the surface is covered with ice cover at a depth of one mile. Life is rare in this severe climate, considered the driest, coldest and driest desert on our planet; where life is unlikely to occur, and this possible place is referred to as the alien region of the McMurdo Dry Valleys.

Antarctica is not desperately deserted, even though it is not a real human population to talk to but only a wildlife. From 1,000 to 5,000 people, mostly researchers and scientists, are engaged in continuous research. The researchers made breakthrough discoveries in and around the valleys.

Even if life really exists in the McMurdo dry valleys, do not confuse it for a mild climate oasis on the tundra. The absence of snow is not a sign of the mildness of the weather, but 200-300 km is the end of the Karabatic wind. Karabatik Wind is very effective in this region. The volcanic gas holes in the region are also very interesting. This land filled with mystery and surprises is not backed by people who have difficult experiences to believe and do not question life.
