Oh yikes! Well atleast if you do find one inside, you aren't in danger...although that's probably not too comforting lol
Yeah, copperheads are venomous...our dog was bitten last fall, but he's ok now...it was a long couple days of nursing the wound though!
Yes, you are right, although I'm sure I will still freeze dead in my tracks if it was to happen... I would still freak out. This has been going through my mind... I have been thinking about how I would handle the situation, lol. We heard a heap of birds going crazy in the bush land next door to us, so we were thinking it might have been the snake.
MEANWHILE... while I was just typing this to you my husband called me outside... and this was there!!!! :O

Oh yes... we've also had visits from the deadly Eastern Browns and a KeelBack and have seen a Red-bellied Black Snake but that wasn't at out house... but we have 27 varieties in South East Queensland. : /
