San Bernardino Mountain Adventures - Deep Creek
So now that fall is here and the temperatures have cooled off, I thought it would be great to look back at the fun times of summer. One of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite places to go cool off during the summer is Deep Creek. Located near Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino mountains Deep creek is a beautiful oasis with tons of deep swimming holes full of trout, huge cliffs, sandy beaches, hot springs... I mean the place is a freakin' paradise! Here we have combined a few of our trips... we visit Double falls, the Cliffs, Peace, Aztec falls, Paradise cove, Splinters Cabin bridge, Twin Sister, and a bunch of other unnamed swimming holes! Hiking, fishing, swimming, cliff jumping... Deep creek is so much fun! And honestly, believe it or not we just scratch the surface here. I didn't even include the hot springs or my favorite Deep creek swimming hole, Gilligans Island! We'll save those for later!

That is beautiful looking place. Since today I had first snow this winter, I can only remember days like those you have. Until next summer ;)
We don't have snow here yet, but it is getting colder. Soon there will be snow at Deep Creek. But next summer I'll be back for more swimming!
Damn. I need a vacation. Beautiful pics as usual.. I had no idea SoCal had so many beautiful places.. you ever get to the northern part of Cali? Shasta? Humboldt? The redwoods?
Yosemite is about as north as I usually go, but I have gone up there to Shasta and climbed Mt. Shasta! And I have a few friends in Nevada City and Grass Valley that I've visited up there a few times and I've made a couple weed runs up to Humboldt in the past. Did a road trip up to Oregon and back, that was fun. But thats about it.
Oregon is the shit... well half of it.. kinda like Cali.. ever heard of The State of Jefferson?

I have heard of the State of Jefferson, but I don't know much about it other than they want to secede from California. Thats way up north so I don't hear much about it down here in SoCal. But I think they should be able to secede if they want to.

Thanks @stevieleigh! Deep Creek is a beautiful place to go and just escape from the world. Swimming until the sun goes down and sleeping on the little beaches right next to the creek. To me it's paradise. But I love the snow too! It can be beautiful and also fun to ski on, but living in the snow gets old after awhile. Especially when theres a big storm and you get stuck indoors for a few days, that sucks.

It is such a nice place. I would highly recommend a visit to Deep creek. If you do plan to go someday, feel free to hit me up and I can give you all the info to find the best spots. If I'm not working and I'm in town I'd even be willing to go with you and personally give you the tour! April-September is the best time to go.

I used to live in phelan, CA, i wish i would have seen this when I was in the area
My uncle lives in Phelan. Deep creek is a real paradise and a great place to cool off in the heat of the summer.
