Daily Nature Fix: Puffins! (Original Photos)
Hey folks. I've finally getting one of these Daily Nature Fix posts done before 1am! In full disclosure, I'm just procrastinating from the massive amount of work I have to get done. Anyway, I decided to share a couple more photos from Iceland of some of the coolest (and goofiest) birds I've taken pictures of. Puffins!
^^^ These goof balls swam funny. When they weren't moving a quick pace, they would jet their heads forward first, then their body would follow... kinda like how a chicken walks. This photo was taken as he was jolting his head forward, like that.
^^^ There was a good size colony that we saw right outside of Reykjavik. The tour I was on took us to an island in the bay right next to the city and there were easily hundreds of puffins around. It was the first time I ever saw one in person. I was really excited.
^^^ Just a few more of them swimming around on the tide. Every now and then, something would cause a whole bunch of them to take off from the water surface and fly around in a swarm... an adorable, adorable swarm.
