Stalking the Monster Mushroom
Mushrooms as as large as dinner plates are no strangers to the eastern forests of the United States. This variety, commonly known as "Stump Blossoms", are associated with oak trees. Not only large but thick and tough, these fungi are considered edible, but not tasty. Never risk eating a wild mushroom unless you can absolutely be sure of its identity.
