Weekend escape
Macks Canyon
Load up the car with camping gear and the ones you love and head out for a weekend away!
This trip was a very last minute decision. My boyfriend was let off weekend standby duty, so we took advantage of our open Saturday and took off for some nearby mountains. After hiking for awhile around Macks Peak, the four of us found a trail to follow.
I seek out camp sites far away from roads and neighbors which allows the dogs to roam, leaving little to worry about.
Our sweet German Shepherd, Addie, always stays by our side. Relentlessly begging us to throw more sticks for her to fetch.
Our campsite was in perfect view of the imminent colorful sunset.
Our Schnauzer-Terrier, Max, and I hiked around in the last bit of daylight left.
The temperature never dropped below 60 degrees and the wind only picked up to a howling rate once in the night. I spotted three shooting stars before finally dozing off... Excited, upon waking up, to find the most peaceful view in the morning.
Whether it's a spontaneous camping trip or a walk to a nearby park, I encourage all of you to get outside with the ones you love and enjoy this beautiful world that we have!
Incredible! I can't wait for my next spontaneous nature adventure! These are great photos! :)
Thank you! Sometimes spontaneity works out better than expected
