Why Are Dead Trees Good News?

When big trees die and come crashing down through the branches they creating a clearing in the wood called a glade. Here sunlight can reach the woodland floor again allowing all kinds of plants to sprout anew including flowers such as foxgloves and rosebay willowherb and all kinds of fungi such as fly agaric which thrive on the rotting wood.
