Broadleaf Cattail. Reed / Рогоз широколистный
Cattail broadleaf - (lat. Týpha latifólia) is a perennial amphibious herbaceous plant; a species of the genus Cattails. The plant is easily recognized by the thick reddish-brown; dense, cylindrical inflorescence - the spadix.
Cattails are often confused with reeds.
Surprisingly unpretentious plant. The broad-leaved cattail is distributed in the warm, temperate regions of Eurasia, South and North America, and Africa; it is introduced and naturalized in Australia and New Zealand. In Russia, it is found almost throughout the territory, except for the Arctic. Cattails are widespread in Ukraine and Belarus.
Cattails grow in forest swamps, in alders, along the banks of reservoirs, in ditches, in ditches, quarries, on the roadsides. When growing, it forms extensive thickets.
The broad-leaved cattail is found at an altitude of 2300 m above sea level.
