RE: Off-Grid Living and the Importance of (Enthusiastically!) Embracing Community

in #naturalmedicine6 years ago

great article!
We are currently thinking about where to set our roots (after living and travelling in a campervan for 2 years) and we have a look at this eco village starting up in Denmark. But they are not going to be off grid and have a strong wish to interact with the village (sending their kids to the local school and so on). Which makes us now weigh up whether we should put our bets on the life of community or the life of self sufficiency and independence...

Campervan! Ugh, amazing!! We have tossed that idea around a bit as well, as both my hubby and I do have some ways to work on the road. It sounds amazing! I would love to hear more about your adventures on the road.
Good luck in your journey to set new roots. It's fun to plan and get excited about these things. Can't wait to hear about it!

well it's definitely been a great way to spend time together as a family! We've seen some pretty awesome places and had great adventures! But we are a bit tired now. I think I would really enjoy it if I was just me, but three people in such a small space starts to get a bit too... small! And because one can never go somewhere with the car and the other stays at home (since home and car is the same thing!) started to be a bit tiring, so now we hope to find a bit bigger home! But the plan is to keep the van and go out once in a while, because it is definitely great to be out there roaming!
I've written quite many posts about it, but they may be a bit old by now, since we are actually staying with my partners parents for a bit now, but we will probably share more adventures soon :)

That's so cool, I will check out your posts! :-)
