Cempedak is one of Indonesia's original fruit is quite well known. At first glance the appearance and taste of this fruit is similar to jackfruit, reasonable because cempedak is still related (one genus) with jackfruit. But the smell of cempedak more piercing like a durian fruit.
The Latin name of this plant is Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr., Which has several synonym names such as Artocarpus champeden (Lour.) Stokes, Artocarpus hirsutissimus Kurz, Artocarpus integrifolius L.f., Artocarpus jaca Miq., Artocarpus pilosus Reinw. ex Miq., Radermachia integra Thunb., and Saccus integer (Thunb.) Kuntze.
Description and description of Cempedak
Cempedak is a fruit plant of the family Moraceae. Medium-sized trees with a height of 20 meters. Overall cempedak tree is almost similar to jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus) but its branching is more dense and stems more straight and high. Trunk diameter of 15 to 20 cm, with bark grayish-brown and contains a thick sap.

The leaves are green, thin, and slightly rough and stiff. The leaves are inverted round to jorong, with a width of between 2.5 to 5 cm and a length of 5 - 25 cm. Leaf cempedak stem (stalk length 1-3 cm), edged flat with the base of the leaf-shaped peg to rounded, and the tip tapered. Leaves easily fall out and leave a similar mark of a ring on a twig.
Flower cempedak (Artocarpus integer) in the form of compound interest arranged in elongated ivory flowers. Male and female flowers grow apart in one tree. Flowers appear in the armpits of leaves, large branches or main stems, and short, leafy special shoots.

The main utilization of cempedak is the fruit that is consumed either directly (in the fresh state) or used as processed food. Ripe fruit can be processed into fried cempedak, like fried bananas (part dami), made jam, or as a mixture of compote. While the young fruit can be cooked as a vegetable. Cempedak seeds can be cooked and consumed. Young leaves cempedak also widely used as vegetables.
