Natalie Portman Feels Like a Geriatric When It Comes to Social Media and…Same

Natalie Portman is a bilingual Harvard graduate, and yet—like many of us—she still doesn’t really get Instagram.

The Annihilation star revealed that everyone’s favorite sweet Southern belle, Reese Witherspoon, is responsible for finally convincing her to create an Instagram account last month, but it’s still taking some getting used to.

Portman joked, “Reese has been a wonderful support system in teaching me the ways of modernity. There’s this thing called social media.”

The Oscar winner has 1.2 million followers already and has been using her account to promote the Time’s Up movement. Even so, Portman says she still feels behind the times: “It’s a very new thing in my life, and I feel like a grandmother who’s learned how to use the microwave. Wow, it heats things up!” Portman quipped.

Can’t we all just go back to Tom and Myspace?
