My view on the cost of things in my country
Greeting my dear Steemian friends . Today I am here to participate in an interesting contest based on given rules in the Steem4Nigeria community. On this platform I am always looking for such wonderful and freestyle contests to participate in as they improve my writing prowess. Anyway, I now present to you my post tagged “my view on the high cost of Items in my country” for participation in the contest.

What is the situation in your country currently?
Life is really hard when the economic forces impede on the availability and accessibility of food to citizens most especially. Food as one of the basic primary needs of man is affected by the volatile price increase from one time or the other affecting access to these items as well as encouraging hunger.
Currently, there is a high increase in the prices of foodstuffs as a result of hyperinflation which reduces the purchasing power of citizens. It is so sad to annotate that prices of yesterday can never be the same as the next day, why; because of insecurity in food and food prices.

Going to the market with the same value you normally go with, will only turn you a pauper before the same goods you buy at the same stall. The random increase in prices of foodstuffs has affected the quality and quantity of household purchase. Among these goods increased include garri, yam , rice, palm oil, beans, fuel,gas, transportation,etc.
Comparing the prices of this item shows a wide gap in their prices when compared to previous market cap prices. Especially in items like food items and consumer goods like fuel which was sold some time early this year at 450 is now 1300 as well as which was sold around 750 is now 1400. All these are as a result of inflation rates affecting the country.
How are you coping with the difficulties in your country and what do you think is causing these difficulties?
Notwithstanding the incessant price strikes in commodity and consumer products, there is always a means of survival. Based on this, there is a reduction in the amount of food consumed per meal this is to accommodate with the increase at this point time. Less expenditure on inferior and luxury goods to buy more of
foodstuffs as well as to save a little.
Major factor that is responsible for the increase is fuel cost. The cost of moving goods and services from one place to another is very high and to make ends meet, the owners of this means of transportation have to increase the prices in order to be able to purchase goods for their household. As much as the basic components of farming such as hybrid seedlings, fertilizers, etc are expensive to be purchased,it affects the farmers especially local ones. Thus, affecting food production and increased prices from time to time.
If you have an opportunity to leave your country to another country for greener pastures which country will you like to travel to and why
If provided for an opportunity to travel, I will first take an analysis of the country in question before leaving. Considering the exchange rate today, it is pertinent to remain here with such an amount of money, settle up a business that can attract foreign earnings and can only visit these countries for recreation. Because I still believe in and love my country as a patriotic citizen.
Despite the high cost of products in the market today, we still have found various alternatives to survive first and live without minding the economic policies of the government of the day. Thank you for reading till the end
