Fishing for Tacos!!! Part 2 (On the Water)
Armed with my collapsible rod, a container of grubs and a hunger for fish tacos, I hit the water hoping for success. Having a great idea of where the Bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) will be was only making me hungrier.
This pond has some of the biggest bluegill in the area, at least as far as I know. With the high numbers in this pond I didn't feel bad for taking two for the table. Aside from the bluegill this pond is also known for its great Chain Pickerel (Esox niger) action. In this video the Pickerel waking up was chasing my target, the Bluegill elsewhere. Even so I was glad to catch one, that small one gave a very fun fight.

One of the best things about bluegill is how quickly they strike when they want something. Those are some great sized bluegill in my book.
Your Welcome and thank you! When you do try them get the "superworm" ones. The typical meal worms are a lot smaller and target more of the smaller ones.

Looks like a great day on the water. Those bluegill look like fun. Nice catch on the pickerel.
Never feel bad about taking a couple for the table. In my view, angler caught fish are more responsible than commercial fish, the bycatch is released unharmed and we take only what we need, if responsible.
Thank you!! I agree the typical angler becomes so embedded in the ecosystems they encounter, we just want to see it thrive.
p.s. If you don't mind me asking. What format are you uploading your D.tube videos with? lol My videos don't seem to want to work on there, and your videos have been coming out great.
