El Frailejón es una planta que se consiguen en el Páramo Merideño, a una altura de 3.000 a 5.000 m.s.n.m. Su función en los páramos es la de absorver el agua de las neblinas y conservarla. Sus flores son de color amarillo y sus hojas las utilizan para hacer el famoso jarabe de frailejón, el cual sirve para la tos.
The Frailejón is a plant that can be found in the Páramo Merideño, at an altitude of 3,000 to 5,000 meters above sea level. Its function in the moors is to absorb water from mist and conserve it. Its flowers are yellow and its leaves are used to make the famous frailejon syrup, which is used for coughing.
