Myanmar Version of the following will be posted.
We will arrange the meetings to form the association which is parallel to MES/MEC. To be aligned with International Engineers Associations such as The Institution of Civil Engineers, The Institution of Engineers Singapore, The Institution of Engineers Australia, The Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand etc, the suggested name will be The Institution of Professional Engineers Myanmar(IPEM).
• The aims should be promoting graduate engineers, engineering students at all levels, assisting TVET/ Practical courses affordable to most students.
• Fair engineering systems to protect Myanmar Engineers
• Fair occupational and professional registration system for all engineers
• Linking to international professional associations but we will not essentially need to follow any international system, we establish our own by researching the international systems and which is appropriate to our current conditions. Mutual recognition depends on economic strength of the nation. If we are strong, the others will recognise us. If you blindly follow others, you will never ever be a leader.
Leaders/ Representatives of Engineers Unions, TU/GTC Students Unions, Senior / Retired Engineers, Senior/ Retired Engineering Teachers ,Graduate Engineers, Overseas Myanmar Engineers etc will be invited to take part in Executive Council and going forward to legal registration. The meetings will be at several places and several times including online forums. Only one/ two will not represent all engineers.
President/ Secretary, who are Myanmar citizen engineers are to be elected by democratic voting .
The important facts are
• We will not discuss anything related to change of MEC Law or change of MEC or MES because those from MES/MEC and the politicians whom we sought the help did not do anything for fair engineering in Myanmar. It will be waste of time for us and we need to move on.
• Let them do their jobs and we will do our jobs. The time and people will decide the final result.
• We will not criticise or personally attack any person or organization at our meetings and will just focus on our future tasks.
• The places of the meetings should be at private places & progresses / discussions are to be regularly posted at our group facebooks.
