Steem has been explained as a basic unit of account steemit is a blockchain unit where different users can share content and vote. Steem can be exchanged either on (SP) known as steem power or (SPD) Steem backed dollars and it’s a token used to upvote content, which provide revenue for both voters in S.P and S.P.D and this proportionate the amount of steem power the voters has on steemit.
