A total of more than 50 mosques are currently standing firm and active in religious activities in Japan, but only 5 mosques that I will discuss here. Like what and where the locations of these mosques? Check out yaa!

  1. The Kobe Mosque

Kobe Mosque (戸 モ モ ス ク) or better known as Kobe Muslim Mosque is the first mosque in Japan so this mosque is the oldest. The collection of donations for the construction of the mosque was carried out by the Kobe Islamic Committee which began in 1928 and began construction in 1935.

  1. Tokyo Camii Mosque

Tokyo Camii Mosque (東京 ャ ャ ー イ イ) or known as the Tokyo Mosque is the largest mosque located in the capital of Japan. This mosque has a typical building that adapts the concept of mosques in Turkey. Built in 1938 by Bashkir and Tatars who are immigrants from Russia and this development is monitored by the first Tokyo mosque imam named Abdurresid Ibrahim and Abdulhay Kurban Ali. In 1986, the construction of the mosque was delayed due to many obstacles and was only completed in June 2000. The mosque was designed by an architect named Muharrem Hilmi Senalp, where the material used was imported directly from Turkey.

  1. Fukuoka Mosque

Fukuoka or Fukuoka Mosque Al-Nour Mosque Islamic Culture Center (ア ヌ) is the first mosque on the island of Kyushu in Japan, you know! It was built in 2009 and opened to the public in 2012. Although not as grand as the Tokyo Mosque but the building can accommodate up to 1000 people, you know! Due to the influence of immigrants, residents in the Fukuoka prefecture area are now many converts.

Asakusa Mosque or Daar Al-Arqam Mosque () is a mosque located in Asakusa, Tokyo. This mosque was built in 1998 and now the building is often used for praying congregation, Friday prayers, weddings, Islamic education classes can even to perform a shahadah procession for Japanese citizens who want to become converts. The mosque is also equipped with a library containing Islamic books.

  1. Yokohama Mosque

Yokohama Mosque or Jami Masjid 'Yokohama is the only mosque located in Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture. The mosque was opened to the public on December 29, 2006. Just like other mosques, the Yokohama Mosque also often holds Islamic Religion classes for children, cooking demonstrations and meetings with other Muslims.
