Musings (The Witcher)

I did it, I finally watched the Witcher on netflix. After countless recommendations and an never ending stream of hype, I bit the bullet and gave it a go. Very few series and movies ever lived up to the buzz that surrounds them, it builds up too much anticipation and drives your expectations into the stratosphere, thus giving what your watching no chance of living up to it. In the Witchers case I was pleasantly surprised (maybe because I waited and let the hype die down or maybe because I've never played the games).

It has a little bit of everything, action, drama, suspense and a few twists here and there. I have never played the games, although everything I've heard has been positive. In my experience video game adaptations never really live up to the game, so maybe its better to have not played the game.

Conclusion

Its a good watch, it wouldnt be my top rated reccomendation, but i would recommend it. I'm looking forward to season two which is due out any day now, so if your bored and have the time, give the Witcher a go.
