My guess is, I don't think we'll ever see an entire existing basketball team from Europe play in the NBA, if only for the logistics. The NFL has been trying to stage football games in places like London and Mexico City for several years now, and it's just hard on the players because of the distance to travel the timezone changes, and whatever other things might be at issue. If the European league team were traveling all over the U.S. 41 games out of the season, and then flying back for another 41, I think it would wreak havoc on scheduling, since rest time could end up being what you got or didn't get on the flight home. The same would be for each team stateside that ended up going to the European team's court to play.

Plus, there would be a greater cost involved in all of this flying, too.

The thing about the NFL is, American football doesn't necessarily have as a big a following as basketball or baseball have, so they're trying to drum up a larger viewing audience, and perhaps start some kind of feeder program from other countries. To a degree, the NBA and MLB already have that.
