That's circular logic. You are basically asserting that one cannot be successful without a partner quoting the old adage that "there's a woman behind every successful man". I disagree. What you're saying is that it is impossible for a man to have any other passion in life except to be a status object for women. Plenty of men have passions that often override their desire to be desirable to women.

I'd even go as far as to say having a partner can be an impediment to a man's success in life. Success requires sacrifices. It takes a ton of time and women certainly don't like their men not paying attention to them. Your ability to relocate after lucrative job or business opportunities may greatly suffer because your relationship partner may not want to or be able to move and you choose not to take the opportunity. There is no woman behind every successful man. There is passion, drive, talent and luck behind every successful man.

The saying "there's a woman behind every successful man" is true in a specific context in which an ambitious man already has a family and whose wife takes the sole responsibility of handling all family matters. An unmarried man is in a much better position to achieve success than a married one. It takes a special kind of woman to tolerate the long absences and lack of attention that you can expect from a highly ambitious man.
