You asked a question which was supposed to have options but I can't see any, but from general knowledge lead is used to make the writing part of the pencil while wood is used as the case for which the lead is placed.
you do know that actual lead is not used in pencils but graphite right.
Pretty sure lead is used in pencils, unless they use something these days, I'm not really sure.
Your question implied you provide choices to choose from ("Which of the following" rather than a simple "what"). Bad english?
A typical pencil pencil is made from a graphite core encased usually in wood though other materials are also used.
