7-day wayback music challenge: Day 2 – Bring on the Night - The Police
@steevc nominated me for this challenge, and I do accept as I’m a mad music freak and he knows it.
I was just about working when I first heard this song and the subsequent album ‘Reggatta de Blanc’, which I bought on the strength of the single, ‘Message in a Bottle’ which was a huge hit in the UK.
The Spanish melodic guitar which strums all the way through this song had me hooked maybe from first play. I do associate it with working as a shelf filler at ‘Asda’. Not exactly school days or college but near enough. I always thought that Sting had an amazing unique voice.
Bring on the Night - The Police
As I know he is as passionate as music as myself, it has to be @verhp11 I nominate for this challenge!
The rules:
- Choose one song from your high-school/college years.
- Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (was it a breakup song? you blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want.
- Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you where writing and submit it.
- Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated
- Mention one person who should do this on each day.
- Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post

Good stuff! I have always been a big fan of The Police. I have Synchronicity on vinyl. I have a hard time fathoming Sting's current tour with Shaggy though :)
I just listened to the come back concert of the police last week. It's still such an energetic music, and sting's voice.... wow nothing to add... thanks for the nomination I will dig into my memories of school :)
