@steem-abuse @steemcleaners so how exactly do we go about removing this link from my blog haha

it's easy (well, hiding it is) - removing will not be possible...

all it needs is a stronger downvote on the comment, let me help with that.

Thank you. I wonder what the methodology was when the original designers of steemit determined it was best to not allow comments to ever be removed?

It's very reasonable: to avoid memory holing

technically you can "delete" a comment or post as long as it hasn't received any votes or replies - though that also doesn't fully delete the evidence from the blockchain, just makes it very tough to find ;)

Wow that definitely makes sense. So many different angles to think about. This is like the wild west of the internet, I love it! And I am excited to fully master this platform.

Oh and I figured that out yesterday, when I deleted all my spam-detection comments on oatmeal joey's profile haha. Only comments which have not been responded to can be deleted, so I edited my other comments to say "redacted."

...But wait, does that mean that by editing your comment you somewhat create a memory hole then? or does your edit and revision history remain on the blockchain? If you'd rather direct me to a resource to read instead of pestering you with questions, let me know and I'll go read :-)

Yeah, editing is possible... but all previous versions remain accessible. There's a handy tool to check the revision history of edited steem posts: https://phist.steemdata.com/

I don't know of any single source that would explain the whole steem-engine in detail... reading the white-paper is always a great start, though much has developed since then.

Shameless plug: Some pesky details about the reward system on steem that I posted about a few weeks ago.

No worries man, I'm definitely going to read your writings and try to get more involved. I'm so new that I have to figure out who all the big players are, and it seems like you are definitely worth networking with since you freely provide information and seem to have good intentions :-)

Unfortunately I am definitely not a big player... my stake is rather miniscule still :D

but I am always happy to help a fellow out if I can!

Cheers!
