New sales formats in a music space

in #musicpromotion6 years ago (edited)

The format is changing, a sales driven model changed to a streaming model.

It's a common belief that the sales model will be far more profitable for the average independent musician, nether streaming model. If you release an album to the streaming platforms then there will be little incentive to buy it. So, it’s going to be a bit difficult without a sales driven model.

with more than 140 million active users and more than 50 million paying subscribers, Spotify is leading the race. The reason for the visible growth in recorded music is because Spotify, in racy, has rared access to whatever amounts to a new music industry. In 2018, as it goes public and its advocates start to repay their investments, Spotify appears set to solidify its dominance. And impure makers are going to jump on this and grow on the back of the streaming platforms.

Also, more hearsay around changing streaming platforms to new with Blockchain technologies. Probably in 2018-2019, we will see infinite Initial Coin Offerings in the music space. There's a pressing demand to clear the mud in the publishing industry. More transparency in payment is necessary. More ICOs will sprout while the space is so hot. Some will win and some will lose, but a recognized actual opportunity for the publishing business, tracking royalty payment streams and for reimagining the liner notes business thanks to Blockchain. It is an area and model within the music industry that's certainly broken and ready for disruption.
