RE: Music Monday (feel free to add your own track)
Yeah your pick this week was a bit rough for me. Any other time maybe not so much but I instantly thought about my sister who passed away last Friday. From a young age early on I thought she felt the only way to get men's attention was stripping. She worked in a strip club, later though she met the clubs owner's nephew and she settled down for a number of years being married to him. I'll spare the dreadful details of her marriage falling apart but she picked up the pieces rather well and carried herself rather well while raising her children in a predominately good area. Then she got a bone disease and found it difficult to work, something I've often contributed to the fact she cleaned houses for the rich and having her hands immersed in so many cleaners and inhaling to many cleaning aerosols. Eventually she went to online stripping, always trying to get the attention she so desperately couldn't find otherwise but it never did amount to what her other income was and she eventually lost everything. She fell, hit her head, had a seizure, when they got her to the hospital she went into cardiac arrest and they couldn't revive her. So, ya, that one was a bit rough this week.
So this week I found two songs on the radio I've never heard before. I am a radio flipper, lol, my kids if they are riding with me hate it cause they never know from one minute to the next what rhythm/ tune is going to catch my attention and they'll end up listening to. But I am like that, don't like it I am on to flipping stations until I find something that catches my taste buds. I don't know, I guess you could also call it playing musical stations instead of musical chairs...lol.
This weeks unheard of picks were:
Jason Aldean: Rearview Town
Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals: Steal My Kisses
Ironically after typing that I just realized that your pick and my last song there were about as polar opposite as my and sister and I. Weird how that worked out.
Hi @sunlit .. very sorry to hear about your sister, my thoughts are with you and your family. After extensively researching the subject; I now make my own natural household cleaning products, so am we aware of the dangers of branded sprays, polishes etc etc. In relation to the video, I knew the song so actually posted without watching the video .. although from watching it back I would say that it contained more elements of burlesque than stripping, that said I very much understand and respect your point.
I Really enjoyed both your choices this week .. the first one powerful and emotive, and the second a great fusion of sounds from talented artists. Thank you for the music @sunlit
