Dance Weekend Special Ireland
Ireland and its DJ scene
As part of numerous music content I often had certain topics during Dance Weekend highlighting and introducing several regions across the world. We have covered most of the European countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland if I am correct) and also learned that there are interesting electronic music scenes in Korea, Japan and Singapore. Some of the posts focused more on Techno, others on general Dance or Pop music meaning there is still a lot to discover and I do not want to limit this to Electronic Dance Music only - should be a community thing - oh HIVEMIND - we are waiting for you 🎧!
Today I want to show you two great electronic music acts from Ireland - the green country full of nice people. Ireland might not be known for that kind of music - sorry for the entry pic (under creative commons with permission from Pixabay) that might mislead you to a different music genre 🎻.
Cailín - rising female DJ
Even the electronic music scene in Ireland is seeing a steady progression of female DJs and artists. One of them is Cailín aka Cailín Power from Waterford who plays and produces mainly deephouse, house, lounge, techhouse. She came into the business after discovering a poster in college for DJ lessons and thought this could be her chance- she did it, learned a lot about the techniques you need to know to become a great DJ and become one of the female rising stars of the country. I am sure we see a lot from here in the future.
Apex Twin aka AFX
Following a female rising star here we come with a male veteran of the genre. There are rumours of different opinions if this guy is from England or Ireland - at least he has been born in Limerick, Republic of Irelands Richard David James. He is considered as very influential (by being eccentric) for ambient techno and IDM in the 1990ies. As inventor for acid techno he later became popular for a mainstream audience 1997 with his production "Come to Daddy" and a single called "Windowlicker" in 1999 both below.
From 2001 onwards he did pause any official recordings and returned with a bang in 2014 with "Syro" that won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album - watch his victory:
Please let me know what country we should cover next weekend and also which dance style you would desire. Feel always free to do your own Dance Weekend posts by using the tag - trying to curate all of them.
Hello @uwelang
I really commend you for taking your time in making this awesome collection of music stars and their masterpieces.
It's interesting and motivating to learn how cailin's music career started and became a success today and she's now a common name in music industry within her national enclave.
I heard you mention hivemind and I prayed fervently that it becomes a reality sooner than expected.
Do have a wonderful weekend.
@eurogee of @euronation community

IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) ;)
EDM Sucks ... (Commercial & Mainstream Sounds)
your opinion...... not sure it helps if people tell others what music, art or writing sucks - if you do not like ignore it - young boy you are i assume?
i like to think that all the people can speaks free about anything ... usually i don't be like this but your way to talk me saying you know all about house music made me be like this with you . And the fact i said EDM sucks it's because of your post about Aphex Twin , you are really wrong taggin that article as EDM music cause EDM is for David Guetta or things like that ... and i still thinking you try to talk here pretending to be the master about music and maybe you need to be more humble and still learning like all the people which love music does. ;)
Ok I better mute you before i get into arguments - not pretending anything - I try to help and support community - no matter it is EDM, Hardcore, Metal, Punk, Country or whatever
if you want to help the community better to learn a little about the things you want to post ;)
i have respect for all the music ... but i don't like to see how someones like you share commercial stuff and try to educate people about what is house for you . i will never talk about something if im not sure at all . And also you could say i love these tracks , because of this or that but you was talking like you are a fuckin master in music knowledge and this is a free world yet ... so if you don't want to read my opinion ... just block me man ;) and be happy in your own world
You simply do not get it - i will move on instead of talking to a moron that has no clue how this platform works. You are free to say what you want here, thanks again for the flag - happy to return if you want me. Just let me know
Flag removed ... i wish you are happy now ;) have a great day @uwelang ... and please i dind't use any bad word for you , so if you say one more time somethin' like moron , i will be sure you don't do it anymore just and advice . If you don't like comments from people which is not agree with you don't use words like moron cause you will have more than 1 problem . BYE
Nice choice :) This was a new discovery for me.
Next week maybe Spain, if you didnt introduce it in the past weeks!
Have a nice weekend :)
I did Spain already but maybe different style - thanks for suggesting

Thanks for sharing @uwelang. Very interesting. There are so many kinds of music and dance around the world. One country alone can have a variety of dances and music. If I think, because I live in Indonesia, you try to discuss about various types of music in Indonesia. Lots of types of music in Indonesia, maybe you will be interested and want to find it. Indonesia is a country to visit, because my country is a country that has a variety of cultures, customs, different types of music and dance that is unique and nice. My country is also very beautiful and still natural.
i like the music and your all album is so amazing
