Introducing: The Junky Jeff Goldblum
Hey guys. The Junky Jeff Goldblum, or Junky Jeff for short, is one of my music projects that I've been wanting to give life to. The current songs I've uploaded to Soundcloud were recorded through the microphone on a set of headphones into my iPod classic about a year or two ago, I then mastered them to the best of my ability in Reaper. In comparison to the original recordings these ones sound great.

Anyway, tell me what you think. I could do with some constructive criticism to let me know if I should continue with this project or move onto something else. I'm really just testing the waters with these recordings, if I get a good enough response I'll save up for a decent microphone and whatever else I might need for recording, if not then I won't waste my money, haha.
You should get a good microphone if you want to be able to record yourself in the future, it is quite liberating. Even a $100 microphone can get professional quality, it doesn't take much.
Yeah, but lacking any sort of talent I don't know if I can justify spending that much money on a microphone, haha.
Trying to find the right mic isn't too easy either. Most of the ones I've seen will require me to also buy adapters and/or preamps to have them working with my shitty computer and/or my not so shitty 4 track tape recorder.
I like the earthy, downbeat, lo-fi vibe. Would be cool to have lyrics to follow along with (maybe I'm just missing them?)
What's the genesis of the "Junky Jeff Goldblum" name?

Honestly, The Junky Jeff Goldblum was a phrase that was repeating in my head one night before bed, and I liked how it sounded so I wrote it down. It has sort of a clunky, awkward sound to it that I enjoy.
As to how or why that phrase was repeating in my head, I don't know. Maybe I was watching a Jeff Goldblum movie while reading Junky by William Burroughs.
