Ultimately, I think what is a sad truth is that marriage and motherhood can be an obstacle to sustaining a career in music for female musicians. It’s like one cannot have the best of both worlds. But if male musicians can get married and/or father children why is it an obstacle for the ladies then? Sad.
I think motherhood is a bigger deal than fatherhood hence the difference. However marriage slows down artistes generally speaking.
