Fiddle Rabbit (A four-stringed tribute to Eminem) by Casey McGrath // Review
If you’re into Fiddlerock, or awesome instrumental covers, then you have to check out the ‘four-stringed tribute to Eminem’ called ‘Fiddle Rabbit’ by Casey McGrath! As soon as the fiddle starts playing you will be amazed, at least that was the case when I first listened to it (and as a music blogger I listen to tons of music I did not previously listen to so I’ve got high standards). But don’t just take my word for it, listen to the song on YouTube here:
The reason why I am so amazed by this is the fact that McGrath not only mashed-up several of Eminems hit-singles into this, including ‘Lose Yourself’, ‘Till I Collapse’, ‘Not Afraid’, ‘River’ and ‘Cleaning Out My Closet’, but she also adds her own heart and soul, in other words her own style into this and her violin playing is top notch. It becomes immediately obvious that she studied violin performance, I had a quick look at her official website to conform this. You can read more about her on her 'about me' page on her website here: https://www.caseymcgrathviolinist.com/about
The mixture of faster notes combined with the original vocal-melodies of each of Eminems hit-single really make this track stand out and for that reason alone this is (in my opinion) worth listening to. This is basically what I’d describe as a sophisticated yet simple and catchy pop sound with deep and meaningful violin playing that must be heard/streamed by millions worldwide.
