"Stairway to Heaven" canción del grupo de hard rock británico Led Zeppelin, fue compuesta por el guitarrista Jimmy Page y el cantante Robert Plant y al mismo tiempo incluida en el cuarto trabajo de estudio de la banda, Led Zeppelin IV.

Muchos la consideramos como uno de los puntos cumbre de la historia del rock.

El enorme éxito de la canción y la negativa de la banda a editar esta canción en sencillo pudo haber contribuido a que Led Zeppelin IV sea uno de los álbumes más vendidos de la historia.

Las famosas revistas Guitar World y Rolling Stone, consideran el solo de guitarra creado por Jimmy Page para esta canción como el mejor de la historia, también la marca de instrumentos Gibson colocó este como el mejor en su lista de "Los Mejores 50 solos de la historia".

Se puede decir que esta es una canción relativamente poco versionada por otros intérpretes. Una de las mejores versiones es la de Frank Zappa, realizada en reggae/ska, incluida en su álbum The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life, y la versión de la banda Great White en el álbum tributo a Led Zeppelin nominado Great Zeppelin.

La agrupación fue llevada a juicio en el año 2016 por supuesto plagio, debido al parecido de la introducción de la misma con la de "Taurus", una canción instrumental lanzada pocos años antes por el grupo Spirit. El juicio fue desestimado por un juez de los Estados Unidos.
