Machine Woman broke onto the scene last year with her fresh 'When Lobster Comes Home' EP, featuring loose takes on tech house and techno alike. Featured in Resident Advisor's Top Tracks of 2017, it was an immediate standout from the list. The percussion is mostly established from the get-go, with a hefty hi-hat groove. After layering a few looped samples (one of which is saying "Oh sh*t" I'm not sure?), the mellow synths greatly contrast the rough percussion. House music gets a bad rap from people for being too repetitive, though tracks like this remind us it is for good reason.
