Dances With Wolves

Dances with Wolves is a 1990 epic film directed by and starring Kevin Costner. It is adapted from the novel of the same name by Michael Blake and won 7 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Costner.

Set during the American Civil War, it follows Lieutenant John Dunbar (Kevin Costner) who is assigned to an outpost on the Western frontier. There, he bonds with the Lakota Sioux and begins to understand their culture and way of life, eventually earning the name "Dances with Wolves" from the tribe.
