General facts about Music - Frequencies
Musically speaking, doubling or halving a frequency represents an octave.
Octave = Eighth note of a scale, i.e. from any note to its neighbour of the same name.
Thus an octave is given between 100- and 200 Hz or 5000- and 10,000 Hz.
