"Never Tear Us Apart" is a song by Australian rock band INXS from their sixth studio album Kick, released on 19 October 1987. It was also released by WEA in June 1988 as the fourth single from Kick. "Never Tear Us Apart", a powerful ballad, was written by Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence and produced by Chris Thomas. In addition, the music was written by keyboardist Andrew Farriss, who recorded a blues-style demo and vocalist Michael Hutchence wrote the lyrics. Source

"Never Tear Us Apart" is a power ballad written in the tempo of a modern Viennese waltz, layered with synthesizers and featuring dramatic pauses before instrumental breaks. And Kirk Pengilly's orchestra-scale riff and wailing saxophone solo make the song perfect. Additionally, Michael Hutchence's more impassioned crooning elevates this song even more. It fully deserves to be one of the best songs of the 80s, even one of the best songs of all time. Additionally, a two-part Australian TV miniseries about INXS titled "INXS: Never Tear Us Apart" was released, with the first episode airing on February 9, 2014 and the second episode airing on February 16, 2014.
