"Sabotage" emerged as a rap-rock bombshell from their 1994 hit album Ill Communication and was received with acclaim by fans. However, the music video was much more appreciated and became one of the most watched in the summer of 1994. It had a huge influence on comedy as well as music, also was one of the coolest videos of the 1990s. It's one of the best music videos ever made, and the amount of running they've done is pretty impressive. According to what Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) said in the documentary Beastie Boys Story, released in 2020, the lyrics are a fanciful rant about how their producer "was the worst person ever and how he was always sabotaging us and holding us back".
