Tom Petty - Dead at 66 - Very Sad
I just saw that Tom Petty died at 8:40 p.m. PT in Los Angeles, last night, October 2, 2017. This was a shock for me. This is a guy that I came of age listening to, and he had an amazing string of hits. He was also a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and was very highly respected by other musicians as an incredible songwriter and performer.
I just watched the Tom Petty Documentary (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers: Runnin' Down a Dream) on Netflix about a week ago. With his music always being played on the classic rock station that I listen to daily, it'll be hard to imagine he's gone. Whether his music was what you listen to or not, his contribution to the music industry can never go unnoticed.
