Okay Drake - Keep Rapping - Drake "Duppy Freestyle" (Kanye West & Pusha T Diss)
This is the Drake that I miss. The Drake who plays with words and with time.. who has a tone like no other.
I've been hating on Drake for the last year - particularly his latest two terrible tracks "God Plan" and that one with Lauryn Hill "ex-factor" sampled in the background.
Drake is apparently releasing a new album called "Scorpion" in June (maybe its Scorpio)... It doesn't matter.. This is what we need to hear from Drake. We made him famous because hes a damn fine rapper not because he can sing into an auto tune machine.
A freestyle is like a guitarist doing a solo - but it requires some poetry creation on the fly. Freestyle is where we separate the pop rappers from the guys who were born to do it. This track proves that Drake still has what it takes to be a top rapper in 2018 - he might not have the lyrical genius of Kendrick Lamar - but its nice to hear his tone again.
I absolutely agree with you, poetry and rap has a connection, in fact poetry and music as a whole has a connection, it makes it more interesting.
It's true creativity.
