RE: Why Do People Stop Listening To New Music At 35 Years Old?

in #music7 years ago

I'm 19, soon 20. And I got a big family that enables me to see how time has influenced they're taste in music. My Dad is 87 this year, and can't stand anything other than Classical music (in a nutshell). While my other brother who's 36 listens to both My style of music (hip-hop and the newer stuff) and My Dad's (Classical). I honestly think how much we listen to a certain genre, and how often we do can lock us away from other genres as it becomes too easy to just rely ont this genre. Listening to new music is a risk: Discovering your old favourite tracks are long gone and the "younger" listen to weird things you can't even understand, or it's just wasting your time . It'd be like me trying to listen to Metal for 3hours just to start understanding it...

Yes! Most important to understand the style of music, how hard to write or play different styles. After that, the perception of someone else's style changes for you.
