Hello Steemians,

A couple of weeks back I was invited to soundtrack a series of promotional spots for the arts festival TakeOver18 (2nd Edition) which takes place this summer in my home town Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal.

The promo I’m sharing with you today was commissioned for the #DiasNoParque (Days in the Park) event that took place on the 9th and 10th of June at Parque da Cidade in Póvoa de Varzim, dedicated to the unveiling of the cultural association JUCA and the TakeOver18 festival activities.

What is this festival all about you ask?

“Take Over is an art collective event that emerged from the necessity to introduce more diversity to the already existing cultural offerings from Póvoa de Varzim, in Portugal. It aims to promote activities that bring together young artists, the local community, and public spaces.

The main objective of this event is to revitalize and renew city spaces and the people interacting with them, breaking the public’s expectations.

This series of events starts with an exhibition that includes the presence of various local artists. Works range from illustration, design, photography, and craftwork- continuously innovating both technically and visually.

Throughout this period of time there will be other parallel activities to the exhibition: concerts, performances, play and educational activities for children and young people.”
