A very fair point stillgideon.
Perhaps a natural disaster or three for which your actions in the present day are a lot less likely to impact? :c) Seismic and volcanic events being a little more reliable than weather events.
Otherwise, yes, you are right that any action that a time traveler travelling to the past can have a significant impact upon the chronomorphology of your time-frame.
Strange that time travelers have it out for each other. I trust that what one person or faction considers to be a desirable future, another will not.
Furthermore, while it is fashionable thinking to prevent a person from being born as a means of preventing the ill that they do, there is a lot of 'cause and effect' at play - including the aftermath of WWI in this case.
Perhaps it would yield more promising results to simply drop an idea or a concept into the hands of one who is willing and able to disseminate it. such would literally be an act of reprogramming history - and a World imbued with more evolved concepts may bring about a World with a more evolved human race.
That is an excellent idea, pathforger. I tried to poison his mother using ground up cherry seeds (did you know that two cherry seeds could kill a man) but alas, the taste was too bitter and she survived.
I shall try and plant good ideas if I ever get the chance to return to the twentieth century. As it is, I'm fairly stranded in the year 2040 and the only way I can communicate at all with you is using this Timephone which is probably on its last legs.
I am happy to hear that you see the merit in my suggestion.
Its certainly more civil and consistent with what I imagine that you are trying to achieve than making an attempt on the life of another, no matter who.
There are worse time periods to get stuck in. I wish you well on your journey of rediscovery.
