We used to vacation in Colonia Tovar back in the 70's a century ago. At that time there was a Ferry boat from Aruba to Punto Fijo, but some of my friends swam to the peninsula just to prove it could be done. On a clear day we could see the mountains past Barquisimeto. I have fond memories of Venezuela and it's people.
