From Zig's last blog post announcing The God Bombs' June/July Tour, one may recall our first date in the Midwest was in Quincy, Illinois on July 5, 2023. We flew into Chicago on a 'redeye' and drove past thousands of acres of corn and soybeans to reach the Quincy VFW Eagle Lodge, the band photo in the lodge after that gig shown below. It was a great audience and the tour just got better from there...

From there we once again drove past many more thousands of acres of corn and soybeans to reach the The Crucible in Madison, Wisconsin, the stage photo's of that gig shown below. Once again, it was a great audience and the tour continued to get better thereafter...

After totally shredding The Crucible in Madison, Wisconsin, we drove back to Chicago, Illinois, where we played to an enthusiastic Friday night audience at The Fallen Log at Kitchen 17.

After a fantastic performance Friday night at The Fallen Log at Kitchen 17 July 7, 2023 we drove all night to Thornville, Ohio, entering The Valley of the Legends then finding our way to the Martian Stage of the Insane Clown Posse's Gathering of the Juggalos where we proceeded to set up and play a remarkable great set despite collectively suffering considerable sleep deprivation.

At The Gathering of the Juggalos we had the opportunity to meet up with old friends including Seen Loc and his lovely bandmate & stage performance partner, Alien Baby Girl both of whom are integrally responsible for getting Zig into The God Bombs. and thus onto this wild and crazy tour for which Zig is monumentally grateful! Later that evening The Sugarhill Gang totally rocked the main stage impressing the audience not only with their classic, Rapper's Delight but also delivering a powerful message of Peace to close their set.

After The Gathering of the Juggalos we once once again drove past many more thousands of acres of corn and soybeans to get to Columbus, Ohio where we played at The Stoop, Sunday, July 9 2023. While we did put our best foot forward for that Sunday night gig, admittedly we were quite spent from all the driving, sleep deprivation, and with it being a somewhat sparse Sunday night audience, the event overall seemed relatively anti-climactic. Photo's of that event have yet to be forthcoming, though the noteworthy event of Seen Loc and his lovely bandmate & stage performance partner, Alien Baby Girl did appear before us on the stage of The Stoop, a first for both parties at that location.
After that we drove back to Chicago for our departing flight the next day. We had some time to kill before our flight so we did some touristy sort of activities as pictured below including visiting the Museum of Post Punk & Industrial Music and meeting in-person Martin Atkins, who drummed for Public Image Limited, Killing Joke, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy, to name but a few of his projects of renown.
