Indie Promo Help, Guidelines and Ideas with Pricing Tiers

I thought I’d compose one post that includes a number of services offered including price tiers for convenience of anyone interested. Please feel free to ask further questions.

All of my services are customizable and I work with a wide range of budgets and do monthly payments or flatrate. We can talk specifics or adjust to your needs. You do NOT need to sign up to Patreon, payments can be arranged in other ways.

Of my list of 3500+ djs, stations, and playlists, there are approximately 1500 in the rap/hiphop realm. Other genres can inquire about specifics, but you can estimate costs based on this same pricing breakdown, as some programs cover multiple genres.
However, half of them automatically only have 10-20% shot at getting a new listener- worth it to some artists, not worth it to others. They are either very big programs get a lot of submissions or very selective.

I include in my submissions: college radio stations, national online djs, regional open format and public access radio with applicable programs, podcasts (specifically targeted topics per artist), playlist curators, blogs and review sites that are both lesser known but well read and also more popular. I use my personal contacts whenever possible.

I post artists on several lesser known social media sites on my personal accounts and playlists, I use instagram, reddit, fb, tumblr and/or snapchat where applicable.
Tiers can be combined with social media mgt or separate.

I compose a few sections of each email/submission letter as copypasta (the description of you as an artist, contact info) but each submission is personalized. I can link your website in the online submit forms, but also require a pdf with clickable links for other types of submissions. I can create this for an extra 50-100 depending on whether the work exists in another format or I am pulling the content and creating from scratch.

I include links, videos and embedded playlists in my communications to djs and stations, publications and podcasts, plus provide the mp3 download (properly tagged and titled). I address these contacts directly, catering to their specific requirements and making it as easy as possible for them to find you.

To give you a ballpark of various tiers of support:

550-600 submissions to your genre in college radio, internet radio, regional and local open format community stations, playlists, reviews, blogs, alt music, podcasts etc-
$1200 over 5-6mos time

250-300 best targets for you focusing on djs, online, college and community radio, playlist additions and hand picked blogsites for feature or review-
$600 over 2-3mos

100-150 specifically curated submissions, narrowing down based on listenership and relation to the specific community your work circulates in
$350 over 2-3mos

My best top 50 for your music
$200 over 1-2mos

If you wanted to do less than 50, I would be very choosy about 20 specific submissions for $100. It would be done within 30 days.

Some submissions are old school! They want cds. If you have these, (10-15) I can add postage to the cost. We can wait to decide if you want to send any out, I can give you the option later. If I have anyone I think is REALLY IMPORTANT you get one out to, I'll let you know.

I manage a list for each client so you will know every submission and who to watch for. I provide a sample email before I begin to make sure you're happy with the way it looks as well. That takes me a week to prepare. I want you to be proud of what I am sending out as I'm representing you, and this first impression means everything to getting your music heard.

For monthly support, my Patreon is set up with a number of tiers. Again, you do not have to use Patreon, nor are these tiers the only options available. These are just a few of the possibilities, and an idea of what it would cost. The monthly rates are based on hours I spend investing in your promotion, in whatever way that takes place. We can customize any agreement based on your specific needs.

BE WARNED:
Monthly support is not going to work out for you if you only expect to pay for one month.
This is for long term investment in your career, and no miracles are going to get you 100 new listeners overnight. Rollout and promo of your music also takes planning and preparation, so if you expect to sign up a month prior to your album release, I’m not going to be able to do much for you. Please keep this in mind, and msg me to discuss time frames. Some timeframes are mentioned in the description of tiers below.

Blog Support
$1 or more per month
While the articles and blogs I post are mostly open to public, this tier offers access to an additional monthly blog breaking down specifics of various subjects, and questions and comments will be responded to.

Social Media Tweaks and Consulting
$10 or more per month
This level includes my analysis and review of all of your social media sites, help optimizing and making the sites work to the best of their potential, analyzing your content engagement and suggestions on hashtags, and how to engage further. This tier is best for those who want to grow their organic fanbase but are still learning the best practices to utilize and how to use them, but want to remain in control of their social media as a whole. You will be responsible for your own posts, I will be available for suggestions, tips, and showing you how to build!

BandsinTown/Songkick Show&Tour Listings
$15 or more per month ∙ only 10 left
This tier provides support for show and tour listings on BandsinTown and Songkick, up to 20 shows monthly. These two platforms feed into your Bandcamp and Spotify as well as FB page if optimized.
I will manage and optimize the BandsinTown artist options for your shows and touring.
You provide the date, venue, city/state, and time of doors as well as a tix link (if avail), each show will be accurately entered into these 2 platforms.
I will compose and send brief reminder and hype msgs to your trackers 4 times a month through BandsinTown while you are touring or doing regular shows.
This does include Twitter and Facebook if it is linked to your BiT. Any posts I make from BiT can be also posted on Fb and Twitter. You do not have to have me use this option if you prefer not.

If you are an artist who does not tour heavily, or will not be utilizing some aspect, you can use this option to include posts on your other social media or something else. Please consult before you choose this tier.

Full Tour/Show Promo Support
$30 or more per month ∙ only 10 left
This tier provides support for show and tour listings on BandsinTown and Songkick, up to 30 shows monthly. These two platforms feed into your Bandcamp and Spotify as well as FB page if optimized.
I will manage and optimize the BandsinTown artist options for your shows and touring.
You provide the date, venue, city/state, and time of doors as well as a tix link (if avail), and each show will be accurately entered into these 2 platforms.
I will compose and send reminder and hype msgs to your trackers 4-6 times a month through BandsinTown while you are touring or doing regular shows, OR to promote new music release or a video release.
This does include Twitter and Facebook if it is linked to your BiT. Any posts I make from BiT can be also posted on Fb and Twitter.
I can also make 3-5 posts a month on Twitter/Fb/IG using content you provide for either the shows, music, or other types of engagement. (pics, videos)
Msgs for changes to shows/cancellations are included by event or by region.

If you are an artist who does not tour heavily, or will not be utilizing some aspect, you can use this option to include posts on your other social media or something else. Please consult before you choose this tier.

Social Media Mgr Basic
$100 or more per month ∙ only 5 left
I cannot replace your engagement on social media, but I can make routine posts about new music and events coming up, saving you the time and effort to stay consistent. This tier provides support for up to 5 posts a week on 3 major social media platforms (Fb, Twitter, Ig), any shows that need listing and promo (BiT and Songkick), any new music announcements, and encouraging fans to follow you on various media to increase your presence and engagement. Each post will be uniquely tailored to your audience, using photos, art, and videos provided to me to utilize on a monthly basis. Failure to provide content will result in sub-par posts and are not my responsibility. If you'd like content creation, you will want to check out the next 2 tiers.
I will manage and optimize the BandsinTown artist options for your shows and touring as well as keep your Profile pic/bio fresh.
You provide the date, venue, city/state, and time of doors as well as a tix link (if avail), and each show will be accurately entered into these 2 platforms.
I will compose and send reminder and hype msgs to your trackers 4-6 times a month through BandsinTown while you are touring or doing regular shows, OR to promote new music release or a video release.
This does include Twitter and Facebook if it is linked to your BiT. Any posts I make from BiT can be also posted on Fb and Twitter and will count as part of your weekly posts.
Msgs for changes to shows/cancellations are included by event or by region.

Social Media Pro
$250 or more per month ∙ only 3 left
Choosing this tier is ideal if the idea of having someone run MOST of social media feels like a huge burden lifted, without being completely disconnected. I cannot replace your personal presence or engagement on social media, but I can make routine posts about new music and events coming up, saving you the time and effort to stay consistent, as well as monitor comments and interactions, work to increase your followers, and make sure your regular posts are seen. At this tier it is your responsibility to respond to DMs and private msgs, although I will send you a direct msg when something is urgent and I see it.

This tier provides support for up to 10 posts a week on 3 major social media platforms (Fb, Twitter, Ig, or etc), any shows that need listing and promo (BiT and Songkick), as well as any new music announcements. Each post will be uniquely tailored to your audience, using photos, art, and videos that are either provided, I find, or create using appropriate imagery, or pics and vids sent from fans. The more you provide, the more tailored the posts are to your liking.
I will manage and optimize the BandsinTown artist options for your shows and touring as well as keep your Profile pic/bio fresh on all platforms.
You provide the date, venue, city/state, and time of doors for all shows as well as a tix link (if avail), and each show will be accurately entered into these 2 platforms.

For Patrons at this tier: I will also shout you out (your business) out as well on my own social media, promoting not only my service that I provide, but also the service/product you offer, increasing your reach and visibility with cross posting!

For music release: It is ideal that we begin announcing at least 6wks before the release date, and therefore I need to know a week earlier than that. Album promo requires content creation, album art, vid snips, and some live content creation from you, the artist, to generate as much hype as possible. I can post the same things over and over, or I can post new fresh and engaging content leading up to your release. I will give suggestions, but the only way this works is if you get involved. If you'd like me to also help with your planning and roll-out, choose the next tier.
For Tour Promo: Ideally we are hinting at dates/region 3 mos prior, 8 wks prior we announce the lineup and by 6wks, all shows should be in place. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in less than optimal results for tour turnout.

Social Media Guru
$500 or more per month ∙ only 3 left
Hate everything to do with social media and business promotion? This is for you. Minimal involvement, minimal planning from your end.
Choosing this tier is ideal if you're looking to have one person manage your active platforms, optimize your post consistency and engagement, increase visibility and sales. I use the science of the internet, tried and true practices over my 20yrs experience promoting art and small businesses, reliability and relate-ability to generate increase in traffic flow.
There are no social media platforms where engagement more than a few times a day is ideal, so the posts are unlimited within that realm, and a number of social media platforms would be a waste of time depending on your focus, so the focus will be where I feel time is best spent reaching the goals we set.
I cannot replace your personal presence or engagement on social media and if you are an artist, this is still encouraged, but I can engage with your fans/customers, monitor comments and interactions, and respond to most of your DM and private msgs through your artist page. Anything requiring your attn will come via whatever method we agree (txt, email, etc)
Each post will be uniquely tailored to your audience, using photos, art, and videos I find, and create using appropriate imagery, or pics and vids sent from fans. The more you provide, the more tailored the posts are to your liking, but most of the required content will be quick vids and a few photos of what items I cannot photo or video myself.
If you are an artist, this includes time planning and rolling out tour runs and album releases as well as promotion of that project through it's completion (unless you cancel)

For Patrons at this tier: I will also shout you out (your business) out as well on my own social media, promoting not only my service that I provide, but also the service/product you offer, increasing your reach and visibility with cross posting!

For music release: It is ideal that we begin announcing at least 6wks before the release date, and therefore I need to plan for at least 2 weeks prior to that. Album promo requires content creation, album art, vid snips, and some live content creation from you, the artist, to generate as much hype as possible. I can post the same things over and over, or I can post new fresh and engaging content leading up to your release. I will give suggestions, but the only way this works is if you get involved.
For Tour Promo: Ideally we are hinting at dates/region 3 mos prior, 8 wks prior we announce the lineup and by 6wks, all shows should be in place. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in less than optimal results for tour turnout. I can work directly with your booking agent if you have one, or you can CC me in your scheduling when dates are confirmed and I can handle that aspect without further instruction from you.
I am NOT a graphic designer and suggest you work with one for album art and tour posters and can refer you to several. If you only require a simple graphic to use, I can do this.
