Singing “Let’s forget about ourselves and concentrate on Him” today, for the first time in many years I realized that this is more than just a call to be ‘unselfish’ and not focus on ourselves. Suddenly, it hit me that when we forget about ourselves and think about Him, He is still thinking about us - our thoughts, our strengths, our weaknesses and our desires..
And it is so much better that it is Him thinking about us because He can actually do something about whatever it is that’s on our mind.
"Let us forget about ourselves and concentrate on Him” - it’s more than just a call to be unselfish. It is an invitation to live in freedom, to live in that moment without a worry, knowing that the One who can give us the best is concentrating His thoughts towards us.
“How precious are your thoughts towards me oh God! How vast is the sum of them!” - Psalm 139:17
