25th Anniversary of Alice in chain's studio album "Dirt"
September 29, 1992 is released the album of the band Alice in Chains called "Dirt".
When Dirt appeared, Alice In Chains was already a successful band in the United States; being among the most outstanding of what began to be called grunge. The success resulted in several problems of its members with drugs and alcohol.
Dirt is a record that reflects deeply the effects of the heroine on the members of the band, particularly in Layne Staley; who fell into an enormous depression, evident in the lyrics of the singer and songs composed by guitarist Jerry Cantrell.
An intimate plaque, which offers us the most painful side of drug addiction, protected by the tear of a guy like Layne Staley, endowed with a privileged throat, able to sensitize the harder texts and turn them into an ode to inner reflection.
Factor that, together with the voice and the six strings of Jerry Cantrell, results in an aggressive, melodic and grim work that does not give pauses or respires. Undoubtedly, Dirt marked the frame of a before and after in the group's commercial success, which at that time, joined the furor unleashed by Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, to name a few exponents of rainy Seattle.
