Japan has some really great beat-makers with a mellow jazzy vibe to it, but I haven't had the time to dig much deeper than Nujabes and his circle.
Japan does have a lot of crazy good beat makers. Unfortunately they're also usually attached some truly mediocre (if not, sometimes out right terrible) Japanese rappers who generally make my blood boil. It's for that reason mainly I haven't gotten as into Japanese hip-hop as much as I want to.
Can never go wrong with Nujabes though.
