Il mio primo album: KILLER PUFFIN - Parte II/My first album: KILLER PUFFIN - Part II [ITA/ENG]

Bentornati amici di Steemit! Qui è il vostro amichevole Mr. Lica di quartiere che vi parla! Rieccoci qui a parlare di quello che è il mio primo album solista, e dopo avervi parlato del come sia riuscito a comporre i pezzi e di come li abbia registrati, dei vari mezzi utilizzati e, soprattutto, del primo pezzo del lavoro, “Erno Rubik” (se ve lo siete persi, potete leggere il mio post precedente cliccando qui), oggi vi vorrei parlare di altri due brani presenti nel lavoro, rispettivamente seconda e terza traccia, dal titolo “Unbroken” e “Puffin vs the Banshee”.

Welcome back my dear Steemit Friends! Your friendly neighboorhood Mr. Lica is talking! Here we are again to talk about my first solo album, and after the first article where I talked about how i wrote all the song, how i recorded them, what i used to record everything and, most important, tell you about the first song in the album, titled “Erno Rubik” (if you had lost the first post about my album, you could read it clicking here), today i want to talk with you about the second and the third album’s songs, called “Unbroken” and “Puffin vs the Banshee”.

Unbroken è stata una traccia lunga 3:58 ed è stata la prima scritta con la consapevolezza di volermi dedicare alla stesura di un album che riflettesse i miei gusti musicali al 100%.  Il pezzo fu composto nel’estate del 2014 e si basa tutto su un riff iniziale di chitarra che continua per quasi tutto il brano, per poi scomparire all’improvviso durante un cambio di struttura del pezzo, basato quasi completamente su di un intreccio delle chitarre, che si supportano a vicenda fino all'inizio dell’assolo finale senza "svuotare" il suono della canzone. La traccia fu scritta poco dopo che con la mia ex band, gli StatOnirico, avevamo finito di comporre il nostro primo EP di sei pezzi, infatti, nonostante il grande entusiasmo e l’amicizia che mi legava (anzi, mi lega tutt’ora) a loro, iniziavo a sentire che qualcosa mi stava stretto, come se avessi bisogno di distaccarmi musicalmente da loro (suonavamo un Rock abbastanza orecchiabile); ero alla ricerca di un equilibro che non mi allontanasse da loro, ma che mi permettesse di non distruggere nulla di quello che avevo creato con quelle persone, da qui il titolo “Unbroken”. La strumentazione risulta essere la stessa esposta nell’articolo precedente (sia per questo brano che per il prossimo della quale vi parlerò), quindi non mi resta che augurarvi un buon ascolto!

Unbroken is a 3:58 song and it was the first that i wrote thinking about an album that could express all my musical taste at 100%. The song was written during the 2014’s summer and all the song was built around the beginning guitar riff that continue for the most part of the song, but when it disappear, in the last part of the song, your ear can not misss it, because i tried to build a guitar plot during a change of tempo and rhythm that becan the prelude before the last solo.  This song was written few weeks after that my ex band StatOnirico finished to write its first (and sadly last) six tracks long EP, in fact, even if we had (and have) a great friendship  between us, i feel like i need something different to express my musical taste to avoid any problem during the future times together as a band, and this song is an equilibrium between my old band and what i feel to play end to express, in the way lo leave everything “Unbroken”. The strumentation is the same of the first song in this and in the next song, so i hope you can enjoy It!  

  

  
Puffin vs. the Banshee è una canzone lunga 5:12, ed è stata forse una delle tracce che mi ha preso più tempo nella scrittura e nella composizione, poiché tra il momento in cui l’ho iniziata a scrivere ed il momento in cui l’ho finita era quasi passato completamente il 2015. Non riuscivo a dedicarmi interamente ed a focalizzarmi su questa canzone, ma avevo sempre idee per altri pezzi (alcuni scartati ed altri no), e contestualmente non facevo altro che modificare questo brano a causa di varie insicurezze compositive, al punto tale che dell’idea originale è rimasta solo la parte iniziale. Queste modifiche, oltretutto ,sono sopraggiunte anche in sede di registrazione, visto che ho dovuto incidere tre volte questo pezzo, ed ogni volta aggiungevo o toglievo qualcosa alla struttura complessiva, ma in fin dei conti, devo ammettere che forse anche a causa di tutto questo tribolare, la fine dei lavori su questo brano mi hanno reso particolarmente soddisfatto.  Il titolo di questo brano riprende tutto il conflitto che avevo interiormente durante la stesura del pezzo,infatti la piccola pulcinella di mare rappresenta me, debole e sconfortato davanti all’incredibile maestosità e violenza della Banshee, che rappresenta le mie insicurezze, non solo nella composizione di questo brano, ma tutte quelle che devo affrontare ogni giorno.  Buon ascolto e ci vediamo al prossimo post!  

Puffin vs. the Banshee is a song long 5:12, and it was probably one of the most complexed song that i had written and it needed a lot of time, in fact between the moment that i started to write the song and i finished it, i spent the most part of 2015. It was impossible to dedicate all my mind to this song, because i had a lot of other ideas for other song (the most of them i throwed away) and in the same time i continuously modified this song, in fact the only part that is the same from the original idea is the beginning of the song, and i continued to modify this song even the recording session, because i recorded three time this song and everytime i modified somethin, but in the end i am proud of this song, expecially the last part (I hope it Djent).    With this title i tried to represent my internal conflict, because the puffin is me,  weak and powerless against the mighty and strong Banshee, a transposition of my insecurity, not only during the composition of this song, but the one that i had to deal with everyday.    I Hope you could enjoy It and see you at the next post!
