The Power of Music
If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music.”- Albert Einstein
A powerful quotation made by the the ingenious theoretical physicist Albert Einstein. It is often difficult to find the exact words to explain how passionate you are of something. Having said that, this quotation is much fulfilling for me. I can see my life in terms of music as well as thinking in it.
So often, we find ourselves in adversity, and cannot find a way out of difficult situations. Music can be the source that sets our minds free, healing and helping us day to day. I truly validate music and believe that one day, remarkably everyone will somehow see that it can be beneficial and utilized in many cases in this world. Throughout the years I have been gathering a greater and deeper understanding of how music is a form of rehabilitation. For example, there are several ways to try and overcome a form of addiction, having said that I have found that music has the power to shift energy and thoughts where a type of addiction can be on its way to be restored.
If referring to particular nostalgic songs where I first felt the power of music and formed an emotional connection, I would have to reflect on my childhood memories of listening to music in film. Disney classics such as “Snow White”, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and “The Lion King” are just a few that involve such powerful sequences of music. We all know the infamous opening of The Lion King “The Circle of Life”. The lyrical content of this song is truly powerful with a meaningful message. As a child I always adored this song, and as the years went by I eventually understood the message behind it. This evidently shows how powerful music is and how much we need it. To gather an understanding and empathize how I felt as a youngster, listen to the song below. It gives me an uplifting feeling every time.
