7-Day Music Challenge: Your Top Albums - #5 "The Score" by The Fugees
We all have a group that disintegrated before we learned about its existence, and that makes it our "musical platonic love", the one for which you wish you were born in another time only to hear them sing live; in my case that group is The Fugees.
To The Fugees life surprised them: their first album "Blunted on Reality", published in 1994, didn't achieve great scope, but the group continued betting on their talent and two years later they managed to change that.
In 1996, "The score", the second and last album of this American band, came to be considered as one of the best Rap, R&B and Reggae albums in history.
The group consisted of a woman and two men, the rappers Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel. Through this album together they broke with the traditional Rap thanks to their alternative proposal. They gave the genre versatility by fusing rhythms, a new vocal sense alternating rapping with melodic singing, and deep lyrics of reflection.
In addition to its musical impact, I think The Fugees made an impact on society through Lauryn Hill, a female rapper of African descent who broke with the parameters of the female model of the time. In that way she managed to represent the strength and capacity of gender and race to function in any medium.
In short: the value of this group lies in two aspects: what they were able to transmit to the planet through their music, and what they transmitted through their image.
"The score" is a record with a lot of flow, I even dance with the songs that are not for dancing. I know that at least one song will please you.

📌 Rules
- You need to pick your 7 all time favourite albums.
- Post one every day for seven days in a row.
- One song (at least) from each album has to be in your playlist currently. Oh yeah, you also have to share this song with us through YouTube.
- The Cover of the Album has to be the main theme of your post each day.
- No need to explain why the specific album is a favourite of yours, but if you feel like it, please do!
- Use #albumchallenge as a tag.
- Last but not least, nominate a different steemian each day.
I thank @matkodurko for nominating me; for days we asked ourselves why we have the habit of sharing everything we hear with other people, and we conclude that the good things in life are enjoyed more when they are shared.
Now I nominate @ilazramusic because he is a musician and that makes him a person with a select ear for quality music.
