Original Song - 'Two Moons Ago' from my EP, Silence in the Solitude
Here is the third song to my van travels EP. Written while I traveled around Australia in my van, and also recorded in my van using a basic laptop - audio interface - condenser mic setup.

The song is about multiple attempts taken to build a quinzhee (igloo) on a frozen lake in Canada. The ice kept cracking under the weight of the quinzhee. I have written about this in the form of a short story in a previous Steemit post (see below link if you're interested in reading the full version of the story :D).

Lyrics
Two moons ago we built this home,
From ice and snow but not a stone,
It'll last the winter through the storms,
Until spring comes oh it'll be gone,
We started under the full moonlight,
When a friend proclaimed "here comes the night",
When we walked through snow that turned to ice,
Upon this lake our home began to rise,
But under the weight of it all,
The ice cracked it was thin from the fall,
Backing away like the snow melt in May,
Beaten, afraid, nature had her way,
But we were under her spell,
Her mountains and forest had a story to tell,
Back to this lake like three pilgrims we'll make,
A return to the scene of it all,
Another day...
A second time around, both feet on the ground,
The full moon had passed through winter's crown,
Sat a home on this lake it was only half made,
So we built it up stronger and hoped that it stayed,
But under the weight of it all,
The ice cracked it was thin like before,
Backing away like the winter come May,
Beaten, afraid, nature had her way,
But we were under her spell,
Her mountains and forest had a story to tell,
Back to this lake like three pilgrims we'd make,
A return to the scene of it all,
A return to the scene of the fall,
Two months had passed the world around,
We'd persevered like the starlight bright and proud,
For we'd built this home up with the spirit of ours,
Set ablaze on this lake in its final hour,
Two moons ago we built this home,
From ice and snow but not a stone,
It'll last the winter through the storms,
Til the sun breaks through the winter dawn,
Til' the rivers run with the water warm,
Ti'l spring comes oh, It'll be gone.
